BAROQUE CONCERTI

Presented by Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra

Start off 2023 with this sparkling and virtuosic program, featuring soloists Yura Lee in one of the earliest known Viola Concertos, Telemann’s Concerto in G major, and David Washburn performing a hidden gem: the charming pre-classical concerto Concerto for Trumpet in E flat, by Czech composer Johann Baptist Neruda. The program also features Corelli’s rich and festive Concerto Grosso in D major Opus 6, No.4; Geminiani’s charming Concerto Grosso in D major, Op.5, No.1; and Handel’s grand Concerto Grosso in A major Op.6, No.11, one of the Baroque era’s most celebrated pieces for strings.

This program is dedicated in memory of Warner W. Henry, Board Director emeritus, and his love of chamber and Baroque music.
