Ava & Friends

Presenting a program of works for marimba, violin & piano

in an unusual ensemble and rarely heard music with a Jazz twist.

The repertoire includes duets and trios by composers from the U.S.

France, Argentina & Latvia. Daniel Hallett, marimba is a rising star in the Bay Area

and is a graduate from the Berklee School of Music and S.F. Conservatory. He is

currently assistant director or the S.F. Youth Symphony. Michele Walthers, performer,

composer, arranger and educator has performed in venues throughout Europe and North America. Currently living in the Bay Area, she has performed at S.F. Jazz and Yoshi’s. They are joined by Ava Soifer, pianist and Artistic Director of Music On the Hill.
