Carol Menke will direct Cantiamo Sonoma, members of the Presbyterian Church of the Roses Chancel Choir, and selected members of the musical community to present Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living with chamber orchestra and soloists. Scored for choir, vocal soloists, violin, flute, oboe, cello, harp, timpani and organ, Requiem for the Living was completed in 2013. The Latin text that Forrest set combines sections of the Requiem with biblical texts from Ecclesiastes and the Book of Job. It's one of the gems of the present day choral literature. We are thrilled to be able to present it to the community.
