The World of Luther’s Chorales with Robert Worth

Presented by San Francisco Bach Choir

Join Bob Worth on Zoom for an exploration of chorales written or adapted by Martin Luther. Luther, a skilled and sensitive musician, gives a thrilling description of what we choral people do, which may now have special resonance for us in these strange times when we so long to sing together: “…there is nothing rarer in the whole world than a song adorned by so many voices.” Luther wrote or adapted some 35 chorales of diverse type and effect. In our session, we’ll explore this rich legacy of song. We’ll learn and sing the melodies, look at Luther’s sources, listen to wonderful recordings, and we’ll sing an array of Renaissance and Baroque pieces based upon these chorales. Participants will have access to music and preparation materials in advance. Pay Its Worth to You! This is a grand online adventure, so we’re letting you decide how much to pay – after you attend! It’s $5 now to reserve your spot, then you determine the value of your experience. Watch for an email after the event and "Pay Its Worth to You.”
