San Jose Wind Symphony Presents “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Out of the Blue.”

Presented by San Jose Wind Symphony

Dr Troy Davis

Now for only the third time in 64 years, The Wind Symphony is about to name a new conductor, a leader who can carry forward the legacies of Darrell Johnston and Edward C. Harris while at the same time making their own mark on SJWS. This season, we have selected four finalists from the pool of applicants. Each finalist will get the chance to program, rehearse and conduct a San Jose Wind Symphony concert.

To keep the playing field as level as possible (and to keep you guessing!) we’ll announce the program pieces and the name of the conductor on our website, a few weeks prior to each concert.

Join us during our engagement with second finalist guest conductor Dr. Troy Davis, as we celebrate some classic repertoire, new compositions, music inspired by the choral canon, and a few surprises!

So take the plunge and walk down the aisle (of McAfee Center) for a blissful afternoon of musical merriment from John Philip Sousa, Roberto Sierra, Yosuke Fukuda, Mason Bates, Julie Giroux, Carol Brittin Chambers, and more.
