San Francisco Bay Area fingerstyle guitarists TEJA GERKEN and DOUG YOUNG have performed together for more than a decade. Drawing from their individual catalogs of original compositions, Celtic tunes, arrangements of jazz standards, and the occasional classical piece, Teja and Doug present a varied repertoire. Often using a variety of guitars that may include baritone, metal-bodied resonator, and 12-strings in addition to more standard instruments, the duo takes advantage of a wide tonal palette. The duo’s 2020 release DUETS has received enthusiastic acclaim:

At the Backroom, Teja and Doug will perform material from the DUETS album, as well as new pieces, many of which were developed while creating socially-distanced recordings and videos during the last two years of COVID-restrictions.
Pacific Northwest acoustic guitarist ERIC SKYE occupies a unique niche that draws from folk, jazz, and blues, employs both fingerstyle and flatpicking, and hovers between composition and improvisation. Although his two most recent releases, 2023’s Over the Waterfall, and 2021’s Home on the Midrange,feature him playing fiddle tunes and originals in a duet with guitarist Jamie Stillway, his 2012 album A Different Kind of Blue is a solo fingerstyle re-imagination of the Miles Davis classic Kind of Blue. Skye also recorded an album (Artifacts) with studio legend and long-time Jackson Browne guitarist Mark Goldenberg, and has several other releases to his name.

Skye has performed live on morning television for NBC and FOX, has been featured on National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and performed on many live radio broadcasts all over the United States. Skye has been featured in magazines such as Guitar Player, Premier Guitar, Fretboard Journal, Acoustic Guitar, Guitar World, Jazziz, Jazz Improv, 20th Century Guitar, Acoustic (UK), Akustik Gitarree (Germany), The Guitar Note, The Guitar Bench, and was on the cover of Acoustic Guitar in China. In 2011 Eric was bestowed the rare honor of having the renowned Santa Cruz Guitar Company release a signature model guitar.
