Now in its fourth installment, Miss Cheesemonger Sings is a unique cheese pairing recital series created by San Francisco mezzo-soprano and artisan cheese blogger Veronique Kherian. It is a full sensory experience combining artisan cheese tasting, storytelling, and classical song. Every cheese and musical piece are carefully selected to craft a perfect complement. It is truly a feast for your ears and your taste buds!
This year, we present a cabaret-inspired program, including music by Weill, Barber, Britten, Bolcom, Poulenc, with French chanson. Come join us for a tantalizing tour of seven cheeses and their musical complements.

VERONIQUE KHERIAN has performed throughout the Bay Area for over a decade, including with Lamplighters Music Theatre, Pocket Opera, Island City Opera, West Edge Opera, Cinnabar Theater, and Teatro Mistral. She held the first Miss Cheesemonger Sings recital in early 2019, and has watched interest grow in the project with each passing year. She began writing her cheese-centric blog, Miss Cheesemonger, in 2009, and worked behind several cheese counters. As a member of the California Artisan Cheese Guild, she had the chance to visit with many local and visiting cheese makers. DWIGHT OKAMURA has been the orchestral pianist for the Berkeley Symphony, the California Symphony, the Skywalker Symphony and the San Francisco Symphony. He has accompanied various Bay Area vocal ensembles including Chanticleer, Musae, Young Women’s Choral Projects, the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. He is also the musical director of The Songbirds, a women’s singing group that provides outreach services to facilities around the Bay Area. Dwight is also a keyboardist with the Best of Broadway series, and has played for the pre- Broadway premiers of Beautiful, Wicked, The Mambo Kings, Lestat, Legally Blonde and Mamma Mia, in addition to The Lion King and the revival of A Chorus Line, where he also played on the cast recording.
