Full-day performing artists participate in our Broadway Bound program, which challenges young people with strong interest in theater. Classes will train the “triple threat” performer in singing, dancing and acting.

Each Broadway Bound session culminates with showcase performances on the last day. Workshops and classes are conducted by a faculty of mid-career theater Artists. Families and friends are always amazed at the number of songs, theatrical scenes and dances performed at the end of these exciting two-week sessions.

SFArtsED Players is a dynamic musical troupe founded in 2001 — public school 9-15 year olds meet after class and Saturdays — with professional theater Artists. Training in song, dance and acting through original/classic Broadway musicals is their focus.

These talented kids exhibit enormous discipline and enthusiasm, devoting at least 9 hours a week (more when show dates near) to classes and rehearsals. It pays off in fully staged performances that are deeply investigated and thoroughly polished: The Pajama Game, Fiorello! and Carousel since 2009 alone!

Peninsula Youth Theatre offers a variety of classes for children ages 3.5 and up. From traditional acting and singing classes to intensive camps, we are proud to offer classes and camps voted "family favorite" by the readers of Bay Area Parent Magazine in 2007.

Magical Tales to get your toes tapping...join us for a journey from fairy-tale France to the Wild West. From a mythical New York to the hallowed halls of Rydell High...Full-length musicals that run from 2.5 - 3 hours including an intermission.

All shows take place at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Berkeley Playhouse camps immerse students in the magical world of music theatre, with training in acting, singing and dancing. Students will engage in a multitude of art disciplines throughout camp, and will learn about many aspects of theatre-making (like prop construction, costume and set design). Students will learnchoreography and vocal performance techniques, in addition to acting instruction and direction by a seasoned Bay Area teaching artist/director. Our camps culminate in a final performance of work to share with friends and family.

Berkeley Playhouse believes that kids and teens have the ability to command their own audiences. The Youth Company allows students from the Conservatory program the opportunity to participate in full-scale productions of the highest-quality with some of the best directors, choreographers, and designers in the region. Cast members of Youth Company productions receive ongoing training in Conservatory classes during the rehearsal period. Currently, the Youth Company is divided into two levels – Teen and Junior.

A Joyful Sound! is our summer mixed chorus, open to all who love to sing. Families are encouraged to participate with their children. Singers receive training in voice, musicianship, and performance from master conductor, Jan Pedersen Schiff. There are no audition requirements. This is a 10 week session. We understand you may miss a few rehearsals due to summer travel plans. A rehearsal CD of your voice part is provided to assist you with learning the music outside of the rehearsal time. There is a supervised play area for the children to retire to at 8:00 p.m.

Do you love to sing? Do you watch Glee and wish you could join in? Then join us for our camp and a fantastic musical experience! Our summer camp offers yourth a chance to discover their talent and love of music and performance. The camp will feature both solo and group vocal instruction, Dance, lessons in stage presence, singing of both musical theatre and choral music, and much more! The camp will culminate with a Final Showcase performance on our last day. Please join us for fun, musical games, performance, and music making!

"For over thirty years SFEMS has offered one of the most comprehensive summer early music programs in the United States, led by a faculty of international artists in residence. Instrumental and vocal master classes, lectures, coached ensembles, and recitals provide an opportunity for adult musicians and dancers at a variety of levels to improve their ensemble skills, performance techniques, and teaching abilities.
