Led by an internationally renowned faculty, GSYO offers six orchestras/ensembles for students at all levels of musical ability. Come Sing with the GGOC!

The Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is calling all singers to join the chorus this fall as we prepare for an exciting season including our annual Handel's Sing It Yourself Messiah in December and the opportunity to perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Switzerland next June. Performances are held at the historic Herbst Theatre in San Francisco and at the City Clock Tower in Benicia.

Opportunity for Amateur Musicians to Join the GGSOC!

Come join the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus this Season! Under the direction of our Maestro, Urs Leonhardt Steiner, the GGSOC is planning an exciting season including Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in November, our annual Sing it Yourself Messiah in December, a special program of Music from the Holocaust in March, and a season finale featuring Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in June including the opportunity to perform B-9 in Switzerland.

One Found Sound Sublist Audition

One Found Sound (OFS) announces an open-call audition for its list of substitute musicians. All instruments will be considered. We welcome candidates from any race, ethnicity, disability, age, or gender identity to apply.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in San Francisco, CA. Candidates may request to audition virtually via Zoom.

Violinists Wanted!

Symphony Parnassus is an advanced-level community orchestra based in San Francisco. The orchestra rehearses Monday evenings at SFSU from 7:30-10pm. Our season runs mid-September to early June. Performances take place four times a year at the Taube Atrium Theater in the Wilsey Center for Opera or the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Repertoire ranges from Beethoven to Shostakovich with occasional commissioned new works by local composers.

Principal Cello and all other string positions; harp; percussion

We are currently looking for a new Principal Cellist to lead the section and make the commitment of Wednesday evening rehearsals and five concert programs on Saturday evenings (11/10; 12/15; 3/2/19; 4/20 and 6/8 all at 7:30 p.m. Please see our website kensingtonsymphonyorchestra.org for more details.

Candidates should have significant orchestral experience and above average musicianship and technique.
