Symphony Parnassus is an advanced-level community orchestra based in San Francisco. The orchestra rehearses Monday evenings at SFSU from 7:30-10pm. Our season runs mid-September to early June. Performances take place four times a year at the Taube Atrium Theater in the Wilsey Center for Opera or the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Repertoire ranges from Beethoven to Shostakovich with occasional commissioned new works by local composers.
Mill Valley Philharmonic is in need of violists to fill out our section of volunteer musicians for the 2017-18 season.

Mill Valley Philharmonic has two percussion positions open for our spring set. These are both volunteer positions.
Rehearsals are in Mill Valley every Wednesday evening, beginning April 9th, and run through to performances, May 30th, 31st and June 1st.
This concert series is entitled Cathedral/Temple Architecture and includes Respighi's Church Windows and a world premiere.

We're looking for a few strings (esp. viola/cello/bass), oboe, bassoon, trombone. Play two short pieces or orchestral excerpts (no more than 3 min. each) of your choice, in contrasting mood/style/tempo, demonstrating technical facility on your instrument, expression and general musicianship. Sight-read one or two short easy-to-medium passages.

The Silicon Valley Symphony has gained the reputation as being one of the finest community orchestras in the Bay Area. SVS has immediate openings for brass (french horn, 1st trumpet, 3rd trumpet, 2nd trombone, tuba) and all strings. SVS rehearses in Palo Alto on Mondays from 7:30-10pm.
