The Barber of Seville in San Jose

The Barber of Seville

Even people who don't generally like opera make an exception for Rossini's The Barber of Seville. It's fast, funny, filled with great tunes and one iconic solo that is a staple of cartoons around the world and, as if that were not enough, it sports what has to be the most famous overture in the history of opera.

What better way to perk up your February than to see this comic fireball performed with a young, good-looking cast of up-and-comers? And that's what Opera San José offers this month.

If you're going to blow some money on a Valentine's Day present, consider this show, which is all smiles.
