Di Wu at Old First Concerts

Di Wu

Of the two major pianists visiting San Francisco this weekend, Di Wu may be the less well known, but she was a finalist at the Van Cliburn Competition last year, showing that she has technique to burn. At Old First Concerts, she's playing her calling card, Ravel's Miroirs.

The way her whole being seems to float through this difficult score makes it seem as though she were born to play this music.

You'll also hear the second book of Debussy Preludes and Liszt's technically ferocious concert paraphrase of the waltz from Gounod's Faust.
