When SFCV reported the precipitous end of the Napa Valley Symphony, there were determined musicians’ voices telling us that the orchestra would be reborn from the ashes. On Sunday, in Veterans Memorial Park in Napa, the former members of the NVS will present a free concert in the park, as a thank you to their supporters and patrons. The music will be a last summer pops concert, appropriate for a Labor Day weekend. This will either be a farewell to live orchestra music in the town, or the beginning of something new. Either way, hearing live music is still a great way to spend a holiday weekend.
