Treasures of the German Baroque: Les grâces

Les grâces

If you're going to go Baroque-music prospecting, Germany is a great place to start digging. Bach, Handel, and Telemann didn't come out of nowhere, right? Johann Pachelbel, Heinrich Biber, Johann Kuhnau, and Reinhard Keiser were great, older contemporaries of JSB and GFH.

And in the same generation as the big guys, you'll find other next-rank composers worthy of attention: Fasch, Graupner, Pisendel, Walther, and many more.

So when Les grâces, the trio of Baroque musicians out of UC Berkeley, say they're going to play some of this music in addition to the big guys, don't ask questions, just save the date.
