ZOFO Duet — ZOFORBIT: A Space Odyssey

ZOFO Duet

Many of the SFCV folks have become fans of ZOFO (duo-pianists Eva-Marie Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi). Maybe you no longer need to be reminded of the derivation of the duo’s name (for those of you who don’t number among the dedicated fans or readers of SFCV, it's for “20-finger orchestra”).

The latest concert of this young, well-received duo is ZOFORBIT: A Space Odyssey, featuring music from several space-age composers and, of course, excursions to Gustav Holst’s The Planets. It promises to be a delightful affair, particularly given the body gyrations that duo pianists have to go through in a performance. It’s like a game of Twister, played while you perform incredibly complicated music. This is a concert with a lot going for it.
