Perform at Old First Concerts with Lacuna Arts Chorale

Lacuna Arts Chorale, an a cappella chorus of 20-24 balanced voices, gives intermediate and advanced amateur choral singers the chance to tackle some of the more demanding 8-part choral literature with as few as 1–3 voices per part. This year we will be launching a new Audience-in-Residence program to help our audience members and singers engage more deeply in choral works of art, build community, and take a more active role in opposing racism, oppression, and social injustice.

Our December 15th program at Old First Concerts consists of music by all living composers, including Abbie Betinis and Morten Lauridsen. Past repertoire has included Rheinberger's Mass in E-flat, Parry's Songs of Farewell, The Peaceable Kingdom by Randall Thompson, and double choir motets by Gabrieli, Telemann, and J.S. Bach.

At Lacuna Arts, we feel that maintaining balanced voice parts is essential to quality choral singing. Placement into one of our performing groups is by audition only. Auditions are October 16 from 6:30–9:30 at 2325 Union Street in San Francisco (enter Steiner Street "Pixley House"). Interested singers will have the opportunity to sing in small groups along with some of our current members for a low-stress audition experience. Email [email protected] to let us know you're coming.

Rehearsals are Monday evenings in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. See www.lacunaarts.org/rehearsal-schedule for dates, times, and locations of rehearsals and concerts.
