Opus 1 Music Studio is happy to announce our 2015 Group Music Classes in Palo Alto and Mountain View. We offer classes in Piano, Voice, Guitar, and Violin. These classes will inspire young students by developing basic music skills through interactive lessons and musical games! Classes range from 30-45 minutes. Opus 1 teachers are all university or conservatory trained musicians.

Prelude Chorus is YWCP’s beginning-level chorus, welcoming girls with no previous musical training. Through a Kodály-based music education curriculum, choristers will learn basic vocal techniques, sight-reading, and performance skills, and sing unison and two-part repertoire in many languages. Prelude Chorus is led by Kodály specialist Samantha Maas-Baldwin, and presents 2-4 public performances annually.

The Music for Little Mozarts program provides age appropriate, preparatory piano lessons for children ages 4-6. This innovative piano introduction course offers a fun, imaginative, and enjoyable learning experience for young beginners. Teach them right from the beginning while promoting overall development. The Music for Little Mozarts curriculum is specifically designed to teach young beginners using a combination of a piano technique, musicianship, listening skills, singing and musical games.

Kindermusik is a classroom learning experience. We teach children music so they can become better learners. It's not about making little Mozarts. It's about developing skills in the whole child - ages newborn to 7 years - cognitive, physical, social, emotional, language and musical. For more than 25 years, we have believed music is the best conductor for learning.

Little Opera is a comprehensive nine-month after-school program that challenges the assumption that opera is not for everyone.  We bring together elementary aged students in grades 1-6 and professional Bay Area artists to create, rehearse, and perform an original opera.

Chapel College Scholars are boys 14-17 who have an established foundation of music theory and vocal. Students receive intensive, personalized vocal instruction with an emphasis on individual responsibility

Choristers are a small group of boys age 8 to 13 selected by audition. Choristers receive intensive, personalized vocal instruction with an emphasis on individual responsibility, leadership, camaraderie, and the joy of making music.

For boys interested in singing with our group who may not be ready for the Choristers program, we offer a preparatory class focused on ensemble singing and fundamentals of musicianship, vocal technique, and theory.

Allegro Chorus is the intermediate division of YWCP, and is a place to improve vocal skills and musicianship and meet other girls who love to sing. It has between 25-40 young women in grades 5 through 10 from across the Bay Area. Members of this ensemble receive vocal and musical training, including music theory, ear training, sight-reading, vocal technique, and performance skills. This chorus sings a wide variety of music styles in up to 3-4 parts, and performs at least 4 times per year. Allegro Chorus made its debut in fall 2013 and is led by Kodály music educator Danelle Johnson.
